I personally belong to the AACN, American Association of Critical Care Nurses.. I think its a great organization for nurses..

I belong to the New York State Mental Retardation/Developmentally Disability Nurses Association. It's great for networking and trying to stay one step ahead of the surveyors each year. It seems they dictate changes in policies and procedures.

AACN also. Along with state and national organizations and my local union, I also proudly belong to the Center for Nursing Advocacy...a great organization that addresses our lack of realistic presence in the media, as well as the stereotypes and out and out falsities we see on TV, etc. This is a great organization and I urge all nurses to join and add their voice to educate the public on what we do.
