Good luck! I would like to but I don't get home from work until about 6pm CST. I've tried logging in and staying on for about an hour a few times but no one was around. I think that maybe by posting times that you intend to be there is a good way to start getting people to gather.
I get off work early on Fridays; I will try to log on around 4pm CST this Friday for awhile.
This may be a hit-and-miss way to meet up but at least it's an effort!

1pm EST is around 6pm in the UK. I should be able to manage that as long as I have managed to get home from work by then (traffic can be pretty horrendous at that time of day).

I am not sure what CST is compared to UK time. How far behind EST is that?

Lapwing, CST (central standard time) is one hour behind EST.

Courtney, I definately plan on Fridays. But I didn't make it yesterday- my dog had puppies on Thursday, and one was a runt; and when we got home from work Friday the poor little thing was doing so badly we thought it was dying. Well, it WAS dying. It was cold as ice, and not sucking, and just lying off to the side of the others. Plus it had two seizures yesterday. So we spent all evening with it, brought it into the house, made a little basket with a heating pad and towels, and got a bottle and milk substitute from the feed store. She looks a little better today; had one seizure this morning, though. The others are visibly bigger than they were even yesterday, but she's not. She knows what she wants, though- she rests quietly when you hold her against your chest wrapped in a hand towel; but when you put her in her basket she starts squalling! Poor little thing, I don't know if she'll make it or not but we'll do our best. If anyone has any ideas we'll try them. We brought the mama in the house to be alone with her tonight to try to nurse, and the baby (Radio is her name) seems to want to nurse but is too weak. We have a bottle but mostly using a dropper, she doesn't do well with the nipple but we keep introducing it anyway as well as the dropper so that hopefully she can develop the ability to suck effectively.

They're Labs- the mama's black, the daddy's yellow (we have both of them); the puppies are: 7 yellow, 2 black and 1 chocolate. ADORABLE!!!!! Wish us luck with poor Radio.

Well, just to update, the poor little puppy died last night. So sad, especially after we cared for it so intensely; we had gotten pretty attached to it. At least it was warm and comfortable, I think.

That is so sad. I hope she did not suffer too much. She must have been very poorly to be having seizures. Hope the rest of the litter is doing well.

Thanks. Yes, I think she just had too much stacked against her. She was really tiny, and we really thought she was going to die Friday morning; but then she kind of rallied, and took the formula well for us, and really liked being held- she whined every time we put her down! And yesterday she looked good all day. But I had a funny feeling by late last night, and sure enough she didn't make it. At least she was warm, and fed, and held. I just hate losing pets. The others are fine; big fat and happy. Thanks for your concern!

Sorry to hear about Radio Mom! sad.gif On the other hand, congratulations on the new puppies! Newborn puppies are so adorable. wub.gif

I haven't had the opportunity to check the site much for the last couple of days. Work has been hectic and I'm so tired when I get home, I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow. I will check for you on Friday, though!

Thanks for the sympathy... and the congratulations. Doggone it, I realized I will be out of town on a retreat from Thursday night to Sunday this week. I'm always available on Fridays, but now that I'm committing myself to "chat" now I've been tied up! Should be available the next Fri. though. Other days, later at night is better for me. But we'll meet up sometime I'm sure, and it looks like more people are at least expressing interest!
