Hi Dave, I'm a registered general nurse from the midlands also looking to move to OZ, I know what u mean about the morale over here sad.gif it's pretty pants!!! I was thinking of heading to Melbourne first and checking it out as I have heard a lot of good things about Melbourne from people who have been back packing round oz. There are many agencies out there willing to take you on but I decided to attempt it alone and downloaded the application form from the ANMC website, got the necessarys to go with it and sent it off for my skills assessment with £230.00, I received approval around 8 weeks later so have recently sent off my visa application for a subclass 136 visa which is for permenant residency and u don't even have to do nursing once you get out there on that visa if you don't want to, this costs around £805.00 and can be downloaded from the australian immigration website and takes around a year to be processed, it lists the different visas available to nurses on that website so u can see which one suits ur requirements the best

Well i hope this was of some use to you and let meknow how you get on.

Lou x
