Hello,
There's a "Live Chat" link at the top, that allows one to chat in a Yahoo Groups chat room (one needs to join the Yahoo Group). That's been active for the past year or so, but we realized that's not the ideal solution, as it's not integrated with the membership data (i.e. usernames) of the message board.
BUT, the good news is that one of the reasons we switched over to this "Invision" message board is that they have an "Invision" chat room system that SEAMLESSLY integrates with the message board --- so a "Vic59" in the message board would have the same username in the chat room. Well, that's the theory, at least.
We'll be testing it out over the next week or two, just to make sure it's simple and foolproof, before launching it formally.
Glad to see we're on the same wavelength.
The message board is ideal for lasting communications, and for more formal thought-out subjects that can last days or weeks. But occasionally one just wants the immediacy and "live" feeling of a chat room. We'd like to offer the best of all worlds.
Sincerely,
George
Webmaster
P.S. We'll likely end up keeping the Yahoo Group too after switching to the new chat rooms, as a backup/secondary mailing list and chat system.

The integrated chatroom solution has now been installed. Click on the "Live Chat" link to get to it.
The chat is for registered message board members (registration is free), so you'll need to be logged in first in order to be able to access the live chat.
