Hi all...I have been working in a large skilled nursing facility for 1 year, and I am considering changing to a Dr's office/clinic. Any advice? I'm kinda concerned about the pay difference. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

What state do you work in? Here in Texas Nursing homes pay for more than a Dr office.

NATIONALLY, doctors offices have the lowest paid nurses compared to Long Term Care Facilities!!! However, if you are looking at working weekdays ONLY, 8-5, no holidays and weekends with the family, then you must weigh the pros with the cons!!! If your family time means more than your net paycheck, then GO FOR IT!!!! In the long run, having time with kids and the hubby will be well worth the cut in pay!!! Best of luck to ya!!

[color=#33CC00]Hi Danielsgirl,
What do you mean "skilled nursing facility"? Is it a longterm care facility? I couldn't offer you advice on that. I have spent ny 8 yrs in hospitals and home care
. Why the change? Are you getting bored or burned out? The hospital I'm at is making me rethink hospital work. Great learning experiences, way too understaffed
