Hello i have only just registered on this forum and wanted to do 2 things 1 was i would like to say hello, and introduce myself, i am a healthcare support worker working in mental health for the hampshire partnerships trust,
secondly i would like to ask some advice from nurses about some rules, recently i started seeing this girl at my hospital who is a trained nurse working on another ward, we have both totally fallen for each other but dont want to tell anyone we work with as im sure you all know what gossip is like at hospitals and how damaging it can be, but what i am asking is, is it allowed to for a nurse to date a support worker or is it seen as abuse of power? if that is the case then i will go and find myself another job elsewhere but am reluctant to leave at the moment because i enjoy my job and like the people i work with. Could some of you please let me know if we can carry on both working there or not? we are both worried about it but both mature enough to not let it affect our work so i dont see that it should be a problem especially cos we are on different wards all feedback would be greatfully recieved
new guy looking for advice

I can't imagine it being a problem unless you guys are unprofessional at work or it effects your work. The only time I heard of people losing their job and the absolute respect of coworkers was when they were caught have sexual relations at work. I would strongly suggest not doing that.

yeah thats what i thought i can honestly say that we wont be doing that lol, and we do work on different wards which helps but it is a small hospital as there is only 3 wards where i work so everyone works quite closely together and all help each other out, but no there will definately be no sexual relations nothin that would even imply that we are a couple, i wouldn't want that as in my opninion she makes a brilliant nurse and i wouldn't want to affect that
