I’m working on a project aimed at helping nurses expand their understanding on how to navigate their patients to clinical trials that might be right for them. Feel free to weigh in on any of the following questions. Your feedback will help make the training more relevant and useful.
How willing are you to help a patient match to a clinical trial?
How much time can you/are you willing to spend
Do you know where to look for a clinical trial?
Do you feel that helping patients find a clinical trial your job, or is it primarily the responsibility of the physician?
Do you worry about offending the physician by suggesting a clinical trial to a patient?
Are clinical trials “bad for business” for your institution or practice?
Also, do you have time to participate in trainings? What factors usually convince you to spare the time? CMEs? If it were a computer-based training, how much uninterrupted computer time do you have in your workplace? What kind of connection do you have (high speed or dial-up)? Would you prefer one long training, or a self-guided thing you break into chunks and do at your own pace.
Thanks again for the feedback.
