I'm curious if anybody has any experiences with this. At my current clinical placement I am working with a women with psycho-affective disorder and Parkinson's disease (not parkinsonism). She takes Leodopa. She claims that when she takes this med it makes her go mental (her words). She claims that it makes her crazy and she feels threatened and anxious. I do understand that they S&S are associated with the psych-affective but I'm just wondering if anybody has worked with a client on Levodopa who complains of the same. I'm just looking at her meds and the effects. I weighing out the pros vs cons of her medications.

Thank for the help biggrin.gif

It does have it's side effects, but it also has it's good effects. Gives alot of people a better quality to life. Like all meds. it is not for everyone.

I agree it has its positives. Im just wondering how affective it is with this client. This med is given before breakfast to dec symptoms to allow the client to enjoy her brekafast without her shaking but I dont believe it is more positive then the negative aspect. I think it should be examined by the Dr but of course the snow kept her away yesterday.
