A nurse observes a student nurse obtain a sputum culture from a patient diagnosed with Tuberculosis. Which of the following would need immediate intervention by the nurse.

1. The patient clears the nose and throat and rinses the mouth.
2. The patient to take deep breaths using the diaphragm and cough into a clean container.
3. The student nurse obtains the specimen before breakfast.
4. The student nurse takes the specimen to the laboratory.
