Hi Everyone

I have just joined the site. My name is Annette and I am a 1st year Nursing Student. I worked as an Enrolled Nurse from 1970 to 1974. I live in Lismore Australia. I am interested in hearing from other RN's, student nurses and particularly WAVE (USNavy) Nurses.

Thank you for your time
Annette

Hello all,

Annette firstly great to see a fellow Australian on the site.

To answer the Enrolled Nurse question please read below.

Levels of Nursing in Australia

AIN = Assistant In Nursing / Personal Care Assistant

EN = Enrolled Nurse / Studied most of the Registered Nurse course via a goverment contractor or private facility.
Allowed to do most things a Registered Nurse can except give medications.
However can be up graded to Endorsed Enrolled Nurse allowing one to give medications but not give drugs of addiction.

RN = Registered Nurse / University qualified 3 yrs full time Uni 1 yr post graduate in a facility.

Hope this helps

Regards,
Chris W
