I am planning on becoming a traveler this fall. I have researched several companies and am wondering if anyone has any input (bad/good) about any companies. I have researched RN Travel Connection, Fastaff, RNNetwork, MMS, CCTC, and HPO. I would appreciate any info on choosing a company or any tips for a first time traveler!

Joey, Traveling is a very important decision and finding the right company is even more important. There are a lot of fly by night travel companies that are here today gone tomorrow. They say they have the jobs, It seems like they have the high payrates, but most of the time if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

My best advise to you is when looking at travel companies, look at the whole package. The payrates are not the only thing that is important. Also look at the health insurance benefits, the travel reimbursement, the housing situations, and the actual hospitals you are going to be working at. This is where most travel companies fall short. I have had many a nurse call me and say they took on a great assignment paying $40 an hour only to get there, and be living in the projects as well as having the assignment cancelled on them 2 weeks into it. Then they cal me and say help what do I do next.

To avoid this kind of situation, I suggest you do a lot of research, call different companies , request information packets, and get the facts.

I would be happy to speak with you at any time. I work for a Travel Nursing company called Preferred Healthcare. We are a publicly traded company and have been in business for over 20 years.

We offer complete packages including health insurance, travel reimibursement, shared and private safe housing with great amenities as well as a competitive payrate. We also have 90% of all the contracts with all the hospitals throughout United States including Alaska and Hawaii. Please feel free to contact anytime me at the below toll free number or e-mail adddress. Good luck in your search and be careful.

Sincerely,
