Is it getting harder to hear with your stethoscope? As tubing gets firmer, usually because we tend to hang the stethoscopes around our necks for easy access, it loses it's conductivity. It's a good idea to have a tubing cover but if you don't have one then if your tubing is becoming hard or brittle it is time to change it. I was always amazed at the difference each time I changed my tubing.
