I have thought about becoming a traveling nurse, but how hard is it if you are married? How often do you change hospitals? Do you usualy stay in a hotel or get an apartment? Please help me. Thank you!

hi,
Ive been a travel nurse for the past 5 years. In those 5 years, ive met many people who were traveling with their spouses including their children. I asked them how did that work traveling with children and most replied that they home schooled them. As a travel nurse your company will provide you with housing. Most will rent an apt for you while on assignment.
Most hospitals will accept 13 week assignments but if you like where you are, most will extend your contract for as long as there is a need for you. If you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask me. I wish i had someone to ask when i first started traveling, it would have made my life much easier..

Success stems from hard work, devotion, and the ability to learn from one's mistakes.

Greetings from Sacramento, California! Im a Nurse Recruiter here in California...and will do my best to answer your questions. As the previous person said, Yes, you work for (usually) 13 weeks at a time, and its at ONE hospital, unless you choose to work at more than one.
If you have any other questions or are interested in travel nursing into California...I'd be happy to chat with you at your convenience!
Regards,
Ed Terrell

I will be traveling in the very near future. Do you have any advice on hospitals in Oklahoma city and Arizona? You have been in the business for over 5 years. Is it REALLY ALL they say?
